Domestic sister cities #1 Damyang-gun, Jeonnam

In August, 1984, an agreement was signed by Dalseong-gun and Damyang-gun to establish a sister relationship

  • Pursue reconciliation between Yeongnam and Honam with 6 heads of local institutions in attendance, including Dalseong-gun Mayor Seo Sangeun and Damyang-gun Mayor Baek Juwon.
  • Dalseong-gun and Damyang-gun are the endpoints of the 88 Olympic Expressway.

Local features

  • Damyang-gun is home to Chuwolsan Mountain (731m), which is said to be one of the five best mountains in Jeonnam, and other tourist attractions such as Gamagol Valley and Geumseongsanseong Fortress, among others. It is also known for its clean natural environment.

Domestic sister cities #2 Icheon-si, Gyeonggi-do

In November 2004, an agreement was signed by Dalseong-gun and Icheon-si to establish a sister relationship with 69 people in attendance, including Dalseong-gun Mayor Park Gyeongho and Icheon Mayor YOO Seungwoo.

  • In November 2004, a ceremony was held at Icheon-si Hall to sign an agreement on establishing a sister relationship between Dalseong-gun and Icheon-si.

Local features

  • Icheon is a region of hills and plains located in the southeastern part of Gyeonggi-do where rural and urban features coexist. It produces rice, ceramics, and peaches and is the home of SK Hynix. It is easily accessible from across the country through Yeongdong Expressway, Jungbu Expressway, and national roads.
  • A countryside-like city with a pleasant atmosphere and a place where those from Seoul and Gyeonggi-do can enjoy some rest and relaxation and go back home in one day
  • Major festivals held in Icheon: Icheon Ceramics Festival, Icheon Janghowon Peach Festival, Icheon Rice Cultural Festival, Icheon Baeksa Sansuyu Flower Festival, etc.
