  • Pre-historic Period

    Dalguhwa/Dalgubeol/Dalseong designated as the capital

  • Silla Period and thereafter

    (Renaming) Dalguhwa-hyeon → Daegu-hyeon → Daegu-gun
    ※ Hyeonpung (Hyeonpung, Nongong, Yuga, Guji, part of Goryeong) – Churyanghwa-hyeon (Silla) → Posan-hyeon (Goryeo) → Renamed Hyeonpung-hyeon (Joseon)

  • 1895

    Daegu-bu comes to control 21 gun, including /Daegu-gun and Hyeonpung-gun.

  • March 1914

    Downtown Daegu-gun renamed Daegu-bu through reshuffle of administrative units.
    Entire suburbs and Hyeonpung-gun integrated into one and renamed Dalseong-gun, which controlled 16 myeons.

  • Jan. 1958

    5 myeons [Dongchon (Haean), Gongsan, Gachang, Seongseo, and Wolbae] incorporated into Daegu-si → 8 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

  • Jan. 1963

    4 myeons (Gongsan, Gachang, Seongseo, and Wolbae) returned to Dalseong-gun → 12 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

  • Jul. 1981

    Seongseo-eup, Wolbae-eup, and Gongsan-myeon incorporated into Daegu-si with its elevation in status → 9 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

  • Mar. 1992

    Hwawon-myeon elevated to eup status → 1 eup and 8 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

  • Mar. 1995

    Dalseong-gun incorporated into Daegu-si

    Nongong-myeon elevated to eup status → 2 eups and 7 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

    Dasa-myeon elevated to eup status → 3 eups and 6 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

    Yuga-myeon elevated to eup status → 4 eups and 5 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun

    Okpo-myeon/Hyeonpung-myeon elevated to eup status → 6 eups and 3 myeons remaining under the control of Dalseong-gun
